Please introduce yourself…
My name is Jennifer Lucy Tyler.
Tell us about your work…
Jennifer Lucy: My company is Tyler Enterprises Inc. & Jennifer Lucy Inspires. Tyler Enterprises Inc. is the company in which my husband and I do our professional speaking engagements & workshops under. Our specialties include relationships, dating & waiting, and abstinence. Jennifer Lucy Inspires is the umbrella upon which I serve others in Ministry through authoring books, speaking to women’s groups & conferences, and speaking at youth conferences.
Why did you decide to start these companies and why do you think they are important?
Jennifer Lucy: I actually named the company “Tyler Enterprises Inc.” when my husband and I were engaged because we knew what our passions were and that we had committed to working and building them together.
What impact, if any, does your work have on women?
Jennifer Lucy: My books, blogs, and You Tube videos all connect with women. My passion has been to see women overcome odds and to walk in their God given purpose. This drives many of the things that I create because I always have this mission in mind. If I can help at least one woman a week to know that she is an Overcomer and that woman begins to walk it out, I will feel that I have succeeded.
What has been the most rewarding part of your work and what are you most proud of?
Jennifer Lucy: The most rewarding part of my work is seeing the fruit of changed lives in women who have encountered my ministry, or the youth who have decided to walk in purity to have attended a workshop of my husband and me. Getting the emails, the texts, the social media posts of someone saying, “Thank you, for being transparent and bold, its helped me…” those are the days that make it all worthwhile.
What has been most challenging about your work?
Jennifer Lucy: What is most challenging is continuing to create, and stay focused when engagements aren’t coming as much as you would like them to. Being an entrepreneur is challenging period because you have your UP seasons and some slow seasons. I’ve learned its about maintaining my own personal consistency no matter what season we are in.
What is your favorite quote and why?
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” ~Marianne Williamson
Jennifer Lucy: To me this quote captures the very things that I seek to help women all over the world realize about God and about themselves.
Who are your greatest influences?
Jennifer Lucy: My mother is my greatest influence. Her strength and the ability to maintain her joy through the most difficult circumstances always inspires me.
What would you like for your legacy to be?
Jennifer Lucy: I would love for my legacy to be: Love. A woman who loved people so much that she stopped at nothing to help them to Overcome all odds and live victoriously by pointing them to Christ.
What’s next for you and Jennifer Lucy Inspires/Tyler Enterprises?
Jennifer Lucy: Well, I really would love to get more into advocacy and to give back to those who have been victims of Sex Trafficking. I was able to do a little last year, but this year I plan to do more and somehow give more to women who are being rehabilitated. There will also be a lot more collaboration done between my husband and I as we do more with the school system, churches, and various non profits to help youth learn about healthy relationships, & abstinence.
